Hello everyone,
I'm here to tell you a little bit about my new Fall Unit!
There is something about Fall that I just love! It's probably all the beautiful colors :)
Every year, no matter what grade I am teaching, I take my students outside for a "Fall walk" and we take some time to observe all the changes in our school yard. We then write about our observations and make pictures.
This time, I'll be using my Scarecrow Craftivity to do this (you can read all about it HERE).

Fall is my favorite season and I miss it so much. I live in Florida and the leaves here don't change to the beautiful colors that I remember from my hometown in New York. I have my oldest child who now lives there, send me leaves each year to help decorate the classroom. I also place some on the floor and let each child toss them gently in the air. It brings back great memories of my childhood. ;)
ReplyDeleteI love taking nature walks with the kids. The Fall weather seems to bring a little snap to my step. Observing and feeling the awesome changes, collecting leaves and acorns to use in crafts is lots of fun!
ReplyDeleteLove your unit--would love to win it.
Thanks

Awesome packet! Would love to use this in my kindergarten classroom.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite fall activity is creating a pumpkin patch in the classroom. The kids bring in different varieties and sizes of pumpkins and we go crazy with them. We use them in all content areas by describing them, using our 5 senses, weighing, measuring, sorting, exploring sinking anf floating and finally, carving them on the last day of October. My kindergarten team also has a Pumpkin Math day where we rotate to each class and do a different math activity. I LOVE Fall!!!
